Proposal for the Creation of a Local Worker's Party

Whereas, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is committed to advancing the interests of working-class people, promoting social justice, and advocating for progressive policies,

Whereas, the establishment of a dedicated Worker's Party aligned with socialist principles and values would provide a strong platform for amplifying the voices of workers, addressing economic inequality, and challenging capitalist exploitation,

Whereas, workers across various industries continue to face systemic injustices, including low wages, inadequate working conditions, lack of job security, and limited representation in political decision making processes,

Whereas, existing political parties often prioritize the interests of corporate elites and fail to adequately address the needs and concerns of working-class communities,

Whereas, the DSA has a history of supporting grassroots movements, labor unions, and community organizations in their efforts to achieve social and economic justice,

Whereas, the creation of a local Worker's Party with DSA backing would foster collaboration, solidarity, and collective action among workers and progressive activists,

Be it resolved, that the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) hereby proposes the establishment of a local Worker's Party with full DSA support and financing.

Resolved, that the DSA will allocate resources, including financial support, organizing assistance, and outreach efforts, to facilitate the formation and growth of the Worker's Party in our community.

Resolved, that the foundation of the Worker's Party is political representation for the organized working class, such that the Party’s leadership is composed and guided by elected worker’s representatives.

Resolved, that the Worker's Party will operate in alignment with DSA principles, including a commitment to democratic decision-making, transparency, and social justice.

Resolved, that the Worker's Party should prioritize the following key initiatives:

• Advocating for living wages, fair labor practices, and workplace democracy for all workers.

• Promoting affordable housing, healthcare, and education as fundamental rights.

• Fighting against racial discrimination, gender inequality, and other forms of oppression in the workplace and society.

• Advancing environmental justice and sustainability through worker-led initiatives and green policies.

Resolved, that the DSA will collaborate closely with the newly formed Worker's Party to mobilize support, engage with the community, and campaign for meaningful change at the local, state, and national levels.

Resolved, that the DSA will provide ongoing support, guidance, and resources to ensure the success and effectiveness of the Worker's Party in advancing socialist ideals and improving the lives of working-class people.

Resolved, that this resolution shall take effect immediately upon approval by the DSA membership and leadership.
